Lab Excel Statistics
Question Description
Here are seven labs. please read the requirements carefully.
Lab #1:
Lab1is a StatTutor exercise on Page 38 of OLI. (Remember to click out OLI Single Sign-On link first) By going through the StatTutor directions carefully on this first lab, you will see how a researcher thinks through a statistical problem.
Part of the purpose of this lab is to help you think like a statistician. Another is to help you see how to use a spreadsheet to analyze data. There are two parts to this lab…the work you do in StatTutor and submission of an Excel Spreadsheet. If you did not get access to Excel in the Getting Started Module, you can use GoogleSheets as well.
I’ve created some screencasts below that can help you to create graphs in Excel in the context of this first lab. They also indicate what I’m expecting things to look classy.

As you follow the StatTutor directions, you will use Excel to analyze your data. In this lab, you will use Excel to construct:
These links will connect you to “how to” screencasts that I made for you. The Two Way Table and Side-by-side boxplots are demoed in a single screencast, so both links go to the same video. I hope they’re helpful and would be open to any suggestions you have for what would make them more helpful.
LAB 3:
where you will use many of the skills you have built in the Excel Exercises throughout OLI:
Find and Replace, Pivot Table, Side-by-side boxplots.
I have created a screencast of the entire Lab 3 Excel Analysis using Excel 365.
I’ve created some directions for making boxplots in Google Sheets
Also, I’ve created a screencast. to help you see what your spreadsheets will look like and how to create them.
Lab 4:
Complete Lab4 where you will use many of the skills you have built in the Excel Exercises throughout OLI.
Here are some screencasts that can help you create your spreadsheets.
If you’re using EXCEL 365:
Step 1: Get the XLMiner Analysis Toolpak add-in for Excel 365
If you’re using Excel 2016 on a computer.
LAB5:
For Lab5 you will create a spreadsheet in Excel, based on the work that you do in the StatTutor on Pg. 253 of OLI. In this lab, you will learn how to use the Data Analysis Tool in Excel to do Tests for Relationships: Independent Samples (2 Means), Matched Pairs (2 Means), ANOVA (Multiple Means). I realize that my screencast, below, was done on Excel 2016. So I’m working on a new screencast using Excel 365.
Previously, I made a screencast using Excel 2016 for the desktop.
Remember to make a sheet for each question and to use meaningful labels on the sheets and graphs.
Lab6:
For Lab #6 you will create a spreadsheet in Excel, based on the work that you do in the StatTutor on Pg. 259 of OLI. In this lab, you will learn how to use the Data Analysis Tool in Excel to do Tests for Relationships: Independent Samples (2 Means
Remember to make a sheet for each question and to use meaningful labels on the sheets and graphs.
Lab7:
Complete Lab #7, on Page 262 of OLI, where you will use many of the skills you have built in the Excel Exercises throughout OLI.
Make sure you go through the StatTutor. I made a screencast showing how to do the analysis on Excel 365.
Remember to make a sheet for each question and to use meaningful labels on the sheets and graphs.
